Peg Leg McGee Can’t Count To Ten on His Fingers

Sir Pigglesworth Action & Adventure Chapter Books for Children ages 5-8

Even the First Officer and the deckhands look mean, don’t they?
All ready to do the Captain’s nefarious bidding.
They were mean but also scared of their Captain so they’ll do whatever he asks.

Text from book 4 page 25 for the Peg Leg McGee Can’t Count To Ten on His Fingers Illustration

The Captain called out to his First Mate. “Take the ropes and ladders along with sixty of our strongest men and send twenty men over the palace wall.”
“Aye, aye, Captain,” he answered.
“Bring me the Duke. I want him here on my ship.”
“Peg Leg McGee, you take ten men and go get all the tasty young piglets.”
“Aye, aye, Sir. Uhhh…how many is ten?” asked Peg Leg.
“One for every finger on your two hands,” he said.
But then he saw the glint of the sun from the hook on Peg Leg’s hand.
“Just fill half the boat with men and leave room for lots of little piggy’s.”
